The Framework Programmes for research and technological development (currently "Horizon 2020"), are funding programmes created by the EU to support and foster research in . In the various stages of an EU project (initiation > application > granting > execution > finalization), various legal issues and questions may arise, in which Legal Research Support (LRS) can advise or support you. Some examples include setting up CDA’s or Letter of Intents and reviewing the Description of Action for IP impact and a sound governance structure for the project.
After an EU project has been granted, usually a grant agreement and a consortium agreement will need to be put in place. LRS will review the grant agreement provided by the EU. If you are a participant in the project, LRS will review the consortium agreement provided by the coordinator. If you are the coordinator of the project, LRS will draft the consortium agreement and work in close collaboration with AMC Medical Research B.V. (AMR) (AMC) or the Subsidiedesk (VUmc) to get the agreement in place. In this entire process from initiation to finalization, support is given by various departments of the Research Support + division: the Research Office, AMR, Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA) and LRS.
