Pain management in burn patients: a European Survey

project.general_error_message

Burn trauma has been difficult to manage because of its complexity. With this research we want to get an overview of the differences in pain management in burn patients within Europe. We know from previous research that burn trauma can be treated in many different ways and that each country in Europe uses a different strategy. This questionnaire gives us a good idea of the differences per country. We hope to be able to improve pain management due to burn wounds in the future by conducting this research. The data from the questionnaire will be published in an international journal. We would like to ask you if you would like to participate in this (medical) scientific research.

The research is being conducted by the Amsterdam UMC in Amsterdam in collaboration with the Maasstad Hospital in Rotterdam. If you have any questions or for further information, please contact: R.K. Gigengack, MSc, M.D., intensive care and anesthesiology department: r.gigengack@amsterdamumc.nl

In the neext step we will ask you about the treatment of different types of pain: background pain, procedural pain and chronic pain. We will ask you per step the different steps in pain management and the medication which can be used. Please fill in what kind of medication and in which way it is administrated (eg. oral, IV etc.) per step, if applicable. EG.: ‘First step in treatment: Oxycodon 10mg oral daily’ which you can write in the box next to opioids. Leave blank when not applicable.
