Research topics include:

  • The brain and energy metabolism: The endocrine system controls and integrates many different body functions. As a consequence, endocrine dysfunction can contribute to a broad range of illnesses affecting virtually every organ system of the body. Our mission is to understand endocrine and metabolic physiology through research, and to use this knowledge to improve the lives of patients by developing more effective and selective medical treatments for endocrine and metabolic diseases. We have chosen a translational approach, with basic and clinical researchers working closely together on joint research projects. Our ultimate aim is to provide the highest standards of care to patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders.
