to prevent and combat lung diseases by highest standard of medical care
to develop and implement innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
to produce integrative medical research with intensive cross-talk between clinical and basic researchers
to teach and educate undergraduate and post-graduate students in medicine and basic science towards MD and PhD degrees
to train medical specialists (pulmonologists)
