Some time ago, the APH Societal Participation & Health research program has funded a proof-of-concept study named MEES project ('MEEdoen in de Samenleving'). In this study, the way in which societal participation can be measured has been explored and steps have been taken to further improve this way of measuring. Among other ways, PROMIS has been used to do so. During this webinar, Caroline Terwee (associate professor at VU Amsterdam), Astrid de Wind (assistant professor at Amsterdam UMC) and Sietske Tamminga (senior researcher at Amsterdam UMC), and Lisette van Leeuwen (postdoc researcher at Amsterdam UMC) will enlighten us on the state of affairs of the MEES project. In an interactive discussion we will furthermore like to talk about how we can implement the findings of this project in future research endeavors.
Brief outline of the webinar Introduction in PROMIS and applying PROMIS in a health care setting. Next a 15 minute presentation on the results and state of affairs of the MEES project. Thereafter, the group will split up in break out rooms to brainstorm on how we can measure societal participation in our own research. In the end the program leaders will wrap-up the brainstorm.
