The ambitions and actions of Amsterdam UMC for 2021 are stated in our ‘Kaderbrief 2021’ (in Dutch). The inclusive organization we want to be is stated as one of our top priorities.
Gender equality
As part of our dedication to diversity and inclusiveness, Amsterdam UMC (location AMC and location VUmc) has endorsed the 'Charter Talent to the Top'. By signing the Charter Talent to the Top we have commited to a real, self-selected objective for more female talent in the top and subtop levels. Our Female Career Development program is designed to stimulate talented female scientists in their ambitions and career paths.
Inclusion
Besides gender equality we also pay attention to be an inclusive organization for other underrepresented groups. This ambition is implemented through our programs such as 'Mentor program employees from underrepresented groups', a 'Participation program Amsterdam UMC', 'Statusholders program' and ‘Intercultural Support for language and other barriers’.
Diversity and inclusion in relation to health and health care is a research theme as well at Amsterdam UMC. The research groups involved provide the organization with advice based up scientific knowledge on how to perform better as an academic hospital in serving our broad range of patients and the community.
Social safety for all
Last but not least, we care about social safety for all. We pay attention to prevention of micro agression (internal link) and provide aggression trainings in order to overcome implicit bias and become the academic environment where everybody feels respected and at home.
