General

The Amsterdam Center for Health Communication (ACHC) is organizing its spring symposium on Wednesday, May 10th. This time the theme is "Wearable Tech for Health" and the symposium will be led by Eline Smit and Anne Vos.

The symposium runs from 11:45 am to 5:00 pm and participation is free. During this afternoon, the latest findings on wearable technology for health communication will be presented, and it will be discussed how wearables can increase motivation for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The first keynote lecture at this symposium will be given by Corinne Herrijgers (KU Leuven), who is working on a project on the development of a smartphone just-in-time adaptive intervention for people who engage in chemsex (the Budd app). The second keynote lecture will be given by Anne Vos (University of Amsterdam), who is working on a project on the development of a mobile walking coach (within the Supreme Nudge project).

There is also room in the program for some "Blitz presentations" in which recent research or work in progress is presented in five minutes. Do you want to give a Blitz presentation? Then send a short abstract (maximum 150 words) to ACHC-fmg@UvA.nl before April 7th.

Since we also want to invite a practical audience, the language will be Dutch/Flemish.
