General
Every year, Amsterdam Reproduction & Development organizes an annual retreat. On this year's retreat, we would all like you to come aboAR&D with us.
Registration is no longer possible as the event is fully booked.
What can you expect?
We have invited two renowned speakers from diverse scientific disciplines who will share their research, insights and experiences.
Bahar Goodarzi is a midwife and a postdoctoral researcher at the
department of midwifery science at amsterdamUMC. The focus of her research is
reproductive justice from a critical and intersectional perspective, for
example studying racial bias in pain assessment, the experiences of transgender
people and care provision to refugees.
Dries Budding is a microbiologist and is owner of InBiome. InBiome has
developed a molecular culture technology which enables faster bacterial
diagnostics and microbiome analysis, which created the opportunity to
accelerate healthcare. In collaboration with the pediatric department of the
AmsterdamUMC he is doing research on the early detection of neonatal sepsis and
meningitis. He will tell us more about his interesting and multidisciplinary
work.

You will learn how to turn your ideas into reality, and create a mindset to take that next step. - Resilience in Healthcare: Managing stressful work situations – Saskia Beijer
How to handle stress in high-pressure work environments? - Culture sensitivity within research & care – Pharos
You will learn more about ways to make your work and research as culture sensitive as possible - Valorization: from knowledge to creating impact – Peggy van den Biggelaar (impact developer AR&D)
How can you create (societal) impact with your research project?
Networking opportunities & social activities
The retreat serves as a great platform to forge new connections with your
fellow AR&D Researchers. Alongside the scientific program, we will

the second day as fresh as possible.
