The monthly Grand Rounds in Pediatric Research are organized by the recently established science committee of the Emma Children's Hospital, to provide a platform for the wonderful scientific projects and developments in and around the Emma Children's Hospital, as well as to increase cooperation and visibility of (young) researchers.

On Thursday June 20, a new seminar will take place with a lecture by dr. Simone Sanna-Cherchi. Simone is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Nephrology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, USA.

Genetic dissection of pediatric kidney diseases

He leads groundbreaking research into genetic kidney diseases, such as congenital disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract and nephrotic syndrome, and has worked intensively with our pediatric nephrology department for more than 10 years. This collaboration has led to publications in scientific journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Genetics and Journal of Clinical Investigation. In his presentation “Genetic dissection of pediatric kidney diseases” you will get a unique insight into how kidney diseases arise.

EKZ Grand Rounds

The science committee of the Emma Children's Hospital was established in order to organize the monthly Grand Rounds in Pediatric Research. These Grand Rounds will provide a platform for the wonderful scientific projects and developments in and around the Emma Children's Hospital, as well as to increase cooperation and visibility of (young) researchers.

These Grand Rounds are open for all employees of the Amsterdam UMC. Especially the presence of the researchers, staff physicians and physician assistants at the Emma Children's Hospital is highly anticipated.
