About the course

CRISPR genome editing is transforming biomedical research by enabling precise genomic modifications across various cell types and organisms; its applications span from basic research to clinical settings.

Do you have limited experience with the CRISPR technique and would like to learn if it might be applicable to your research? Or do you want to use this technology in your research but don’t know how? If so, the CRISPR course is there for you!

You will learn the fundamental concepts, alongside experimental design and applications. Through lectures and interactive discussions, we will demystify the steps required to use common CRISPR applications. Assignments will provide practical experience with different CRISPR tools. National and international experts will share insights on topics such as large-scale screening, in vitro and in vivo disease models, and therapeutic applications.

Topics include:
– Introduction to CRISPR
– How to make a knock-out
– How to make a knock-in
– Edit a base
– Screening
– Diagnostics
– Clinical application
– Meet the expert sessions

Upon completion, you will have a solid understanding of CRISPR genome editing basics, experiment design, and the diverse applications of CRISPR technology. This knowledge will allow you to advance your research project.

This course is organized by the CRISPR Center Amsterdam UMC, and the Netherlands Cancer Institute, in collaboration with the OOA.
