Dear colleagues and friends,
I am writing to let you know that on 1 April this year I will be leaving as director of the HIV Monitoring Foundation (SHM).
The immediate reason is that they have reached retirement age on January 26, but also the expressed wish that it is time to be able to pass it on to the new generation after having fulfilled this great position for 8 years with great pleasure.
I am therefore very pleased to be able to inform you that from April 1, the day-to-day management of SHM will be taken over by my colleague Dr. Marc van der Valk (internist-infectiologist and head of the HIV outpatient clinic at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC as well as in DC clinic Lairesse) and drs. Sima Zaheri (currently deputy director of SHM).
The current board of the foundation has decided to officially change the existing structure with a board and a management to that with a board and a supervisory board as of the same date. Marc van der Valk and Sima Zaheri have been jointly appointed as directors with effect from 1 April 2021, in the position of chairman and secretary / treasurer respectively. Marc will fill the chair for three days a week and will also continue some of his clinical work.
I am pleased to say that the members of the current board will all remain on as members of the new supervisory board from 1 April. In addition, Dr. J. Gisolf will join the Supervisory Board on behalf of the NVHB and Drs. Carolijn Ploem (member of the Board of Directors of Radboudumc) as a member on behalf of the Dutch Federation of University Medical Centers.
I myself, partly as professor and supervisor, will continue my duties in the context of various current research projects from the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development and the Global Health department of the Amsterdam UMC after 1 April, in close collaboration with those involved. partners, including SHM. In addition, I will remain involved in various other national and international activities and functions, including the chairmanship of the NCHIV Foundation.
I have every confidence that the leadership of SHM will remain in excellent hands with Marc and Sima and will of course always be willing to support them with advice and action where desired.
Sincerely,
Peter Reiss
