APH is offering 6 APH Impact Booster Grants with a value of maximum € 5.000 to APH researchers. The booster aims to strengthen the impact of research conducted within APH. To compete for this booster grant, you have to submit an eligible booster plan and attend the Annual Meeting on November 19, 2024. At the end of the meeting, 6 winners will be selected during the plenary closing ceremony based on random selection.

Scope
Creating impact is a process where scientific research and findings leads to contributions beyond academia, in the broader context of society. It involves translating scientific findings into policy changes, societal solutions or other benefits for individuals or communities. Creating impact can lead to small or big results, and it can be a short or long term process. In other words, creating impact can vary widely allowing a wide range of ideas to be submitted for the application of the booster grant.
Examples of booster plan ideas are:
- communication about activities to disseminate your scientific findings within and outside APH through various types of media (video, podcast, etc.);
- ·organizing events, projects or workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange with parties outside the research setting to give scientific knowledge more meaning in practice;
- enriching your research project with knowledge and data obtained from co-creating with the target population or other stakeholders of your research;
- co-creating scientific knowledge with stakeholders into useful tools, protocols or guidelines.
Your booster plan should consist of a short motivation, a detailed activity plan and budget plan. Please describe the idea you want to make impact with, why you want to make this impact, which improvements on current practices you want to contribute to and for who. Before submitting, consult your supervisor(s) or other relevant colleagues about the feasibility of your plan.

All booster plans will be judged on eligibility by the APH team based on the conditions below. You will be informed, at the latest, in the week of October 28 whether your plan will participate in the random selection lottery during the plenary closing ceremony at the Annual Meeting, November 19.
Conditions
- Your booster plan fits within the scope and is feasible.
- Your booster plan should be executed and the budget must be spent before December 1, 2025.
- Only actual costs made as laid out in the budget plan will be paid/reimbursed.
- You are a junior, midcareer or senior researcher affiliated with APH (checked in PURE, see affiliation instructions here).
- If you are a PhD or postdoc researcher, your supervisor approves your booster plan (submit your plan with supervisor in cc).
- You are present at the Annual Meeting in the morning to submit a printout of your booster plan.
- You are present at the Annual Meeting’s closing ceremony during the plenary afternoon session to receive the grant if you are randomly selected. If you are not present, another booster plan will be selected.
- You can submit only one booster plan.
- Each booster plan should be unique, the same proposal cannot be submitted multiple times by different applicants.
