Objective
The Centre of Expertise - Urban Vitality aims to improve the vitality of all Amsterdam's residents and focuses on five themes: 1) Intensive Complex Care, 2) Healthy Aging 3) People in Movement,4) Healthy Growing Up, and 5) Sport, Performance & Management.
Demand-driven and practice-oriented research is carried out in national, regional and international projects. Knowledge sharing takes place and research has an impact on education an (professional)practice, so that research and investigative ability are part of the knowledge and attitude of the professionals of today and tomorrow.
The majority of Urban Vitality research takes place in Living Labs: real-life settings in the Amsterdam where residents/ patients actively contribute to research. Lecturer-researchers incorporate the acquired knowledge and research experiences into the curriculum to provide students with the latest insights from professional practice and an investigative attitude towards their studies. At the same time, stakeholders from the professional field benefit from the collaboration by acquiring the most up-to-date scientific insights in their field.
