Amsterdam UMC impact support

Support for researchers to create impact takes place in various ways and is embedded in the basic structure of the Amsterdam UMC through different departments: IXA, Research Grant Support, Legal Research Support, Communication and the Doctoral School. Amsterdam UMC appointed business and impact developers within the 8 research institutes. The aim of the deployment is to increase and strengthen impact for Amsterdam UMC and its research institutes.

APH-IXA support

APH researchers or research groups can contact the APH-IXA impact developer as soon as they have an idea that could have a positive impact in society. Together with the impact developer the value of the idea is assessed, to what extent it is feasible to take it further and to explore which impact strategy or route fits best and which support is needed.

The impact developer is not only part of the APH team but also part of IXA, the valorization center of the 4 Amsterdam knowledge institutions. If needed, the impact developer puts APH researchers in contact with colleagues who are specialists in areas such as artificial intelligence, biobanks and medical technology.

Trainings, workshops and factsheets

In addition, researchers can further inform and become proficient in impact by attending trainings and workshops on impact provided by IXA. If a researcher or research group would like customized workshops organized, the impact developer can be contacted to discuss the different possibilities.

Researchers can also become further informed by downloading factsheets from the IXA website on such topics as collaborating with software companies, public-private partnerships, creating impact in the social sciences and humanities and setting up spin-offs.

Grant support on impact

If an APH researcher wants to apply for a grant with a strong emphasis on impact, the Research Grant Support offers the necessary general support.
