Presentations
We started the symposium with three presentations related to the theme. We first welcomed our international guest Helena Lindgren to speak on her research on doulas; women who speak the native language of the mother and provide emotional support before, during and after birth. Our second speaker, Kitty Bloemenkamp talked about maternal health inequities due to ethnicity or race. Finally, Norah van Mello spoke on reproduction rights, the wish for children and parenthood amongst transgender people.
