The Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) is organizing a thematic call to give an impulse for smart measurement technology in oncologic patient care. The focus of this call is smart measurement technology to aid screening and diagnosis of high-risk population/groups, and monitoring of patients with (the consequences of) cancer. We envision multidisciplinary teams that fulfil the unmet clinical need and reach the next developmental phase on its way to daily practice. To do so, KWF stimulates the collaborations of interdisciplinary teams of (technological, societal, or biomedical) researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, and potential industry to initiate a kickstart for the further development of smart measurement technologies in oncological care.
To initiate these interdisciplinary teams, we will organise a matchmaking event on Tuesday 14 June 2022 at the Eemklooster in Amersfoort about smart measurement technology in oncological care. The goal is to organize an inspiring session and to see how we can take the next step in this research area together. On this day we will discuss where the opportunities lie within this field and stimulate the formation of collaborations/research consortia to further develop this into a full proposal for the thematic call (deadline end of august). To this end, we bring together all relevant parties, from technical universities to patients, to realize joint solutions in the field of smart measurement technology for oncological care.
Matchmaking event set-up The event is scheduled for Tuesday 14 June from 12:15 to 17:00, followed by a drink at the Eemklooster in Amersfoort. The program includes matchmaking sessions on bottlenecks encountered within the development of smart measurement technology in oncology (topics such as: what do you need and how can we connect the existing different initiatives). These sessions are set up based on points retrieved from the registration forms (see below). We see the matchmaking event as a unique opportunity and expect key players from the field to attend.
