As 2022 comes to a close and the Holiday season is before us, we wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for each and every one of you at Cancer Center Amsterdam and thank you for your dedication to improving the lives of patients with cancer.

As we reflect on the past year, we acknowledge the commitment, challenges, and achievements throughout Cancer Center Amsterdam. The concentration of oncological care at De Boelelaan location has continued to establish a comprehensive and state-of-the-art cancer center. We celebrate this progress in connection and cooperation that is at the heart of our mission to create groundbreaking new possibilities for patients with cancer. With the further integration of care and scientific research, our patients are receiving optimal care under the guidance of a wide range of experts organized in multidisciplinary teams.

We were thrilled to welcome you in person to the Cancer Center Amsterdam Conference this year and hear about the significant progress made through fundamental, translational, and clinical research in oncology. Other 2022 highlights include the laying of the foundations of the € 90-million Amsterdam Oncology and Neuroscience Research (ADORE) Research & Diagnostic Center. Although a few years from completion, ADORE will mark the first time worldwide that oncological and neurological researchers will be working in synergy. We also cheer another record-breaking 2022 Amsterdam Marathon in which runners from all over the world raised an extraordinary amount of money for research at Cancer Center Amsterdam.

Looking forward to 2023, Cancer Center Amsterdam will further spread our wings and create a new kind of cooperative infrastructure with regional hospitals and other organizations. This regional oncology research and training network will extend patients’ access to our innovative care and scientific research. It will also reinforce carefully developed “care pathways” that seek to ensure patients receive the best care at the right location. By moving forward together, we can realize the best care in our region for oncological patients of today and tomorrow.

We are looking forward to a new year filled with wins and successes, both large and small. But first, we wish you and your loved ones the most joyous and peaceful Holidays.
