All Amsterdam UMC Research Institutes have joined forces to launch a new Mentoring Program open to researchers from all levels (PhD students, postdocs, assistant professors, associate professors, full professors) and research fields (fundamental, clinical and computational research).

The scope of the mentoring program is to provide advice, support and guidance to researchers across all Amsterdam Research Institutes at different stages of their career.

The mentoring program will last for one academic year from November 2023 to July 2024. Mentors and mentees will be matched based on the information that you provide in the registration form (amsterdamumc.org/mentoringprogram).

The topic of discussion between mentees and mentors will be decided by the mentees based on their specific needs or difficulties to overcome. Examples of topics are: how to improve my CV? Which grants am I eligible for? How to solve an issue/disagreement with a colleague/PI? How to keep a good work/life balance? How do I know if I am suited for academia? What does it take to pursue an academic career? What other options are there beyond an academic career? etc..

In November, we will organize a kick-off meeting, during which mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet-and-greet. In addition, after matching we will provide both mentors and mentees with a short guide on mentorship, mentor-mentee roles and expectations.

If you are interested in joining the program, please fill out this short form online before October 1st.
