    Dekker Team Science Grants for ACS researchers Jessie van Weezenbeek and Bettine van Willigen The Dutch Heart Foundation has awarded Dekker grants to two ACS researchers. Biomedical researcher Jessie van Wezenbeek will collaborate with heart failure cardiologist Joëlle Elias from the UMC Utrecht. Biomedical engineer Bettine van Willigen will work together with cardiology resident Fabienne Vervaat from Catharina Hospital.

    Farewell lecture by Aartjan Beekman: A lifetime of wonder in psychiatry On Thursday, December 11th 2025, Aartjan Beekman will say farewell as Professor of Psychiatry. His long career at the Valeriuskliniek and VUmc/Amsterdam UMC has left a significant mark on psychiatry and research in Amsterdam. From 2004 to 2010, he served as the program leader of the APH Mental Health (MH) research program and has continues to be an essential member of the APH MH senior program council to this day. His contributions to academic psychiatry and APH have been a great value. Tomorrow, he will deliver his farewell lecture, entitled: “Proactive psychiatry: On freedom, wonder, and change.”
