Prof. dr. Wouter de Jonge: Epigenetic Biomarkers
This project, Epigenetic Biomarkers for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, is aimed at contributing to better predict the therapy response for Crohn's disease. By using machine learning, epigenetic markers can be identified. These markers can be used to predict the effectiveness of the treatment well before treatment itself has started.
Dr. Johan van Limbergen: BIO-MODEM
Optimizing nutritional therapy can help patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. However, maintaining this diet is difficult. In this study, we will use a new heartbeat monitor and a special app to help patients keep track of their own stress and care. This way, we can better help patients to controla and manage their symptoms. Additionally, new insights will help us to improve treatment.
