Dr. Kornel Golebski and Prof. Anke-Hilse Maitland-van der Zee received a ZonMW grant worth 248.000 euros to investigate their preclinical technology for COVID-19 therapy.

With this grant ZonMW wants to improve the treatment and disease control of COVID-19 and prepare the Netherlands for pandemics caused by new viral infectious diseases. This requires (continued) development of innovative key technologies. This grant round therefore focused on the first phases of the innovation chain and provided space for new ideas for technological solutions.

The research project of Dr. Golebski and Prof. Maitland-van der Zee is titled: Human Mucosal Immune System Model for Guiding Treatment Choices in long-COVID-19. This research study will be conducted in a collaboration with the P4O2 consortium (Precision Medicine for More Oxygen).

The Amsterdam institute for Infection and Immunity wishes Dr. Golebski and Prof. Maitland-van der Zee the best of luck with their research project.
