Focus of research
Research in cardiovascular physiology, surgery, and oral & maxillofacial specialties with a particular focus on tissue oxygenation, microcirculation, (orapathology, regeneration, and oral diagnostic sciences. Research projects include studies in hyperbaric medicine for wound healing, ischemia-reperfusion injuries, osteoradionecrosis & medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, photodynamic therapy for head & neck malignancies, clinical value of monitoring perioperative patient microcirculation, and evaluating the influences of both oral prosthesis and their materials on normal and pathological lesions.
