Krishma's interests lie at the interface of ethics and health science. She has an MSc in Fundamental Neuroscience from Maastricht University (2017), as well as an MA in Philosophy, Bioethics and Health from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2018).

Focus of research

Krishma started her PhD in January 2019, with her research focusing on institutional responsibilities in fostering research integrity. Her research is part of the European Commission Horizon 2020 funded Standard Operating Procedures for Research Integrity project, which aims to develop a toolbox containing standard operating procedures and guidelines for research integrity targeted at the level of research performing and funding organizations (RPOs and RFOs). The ultimate goal of the project is to help RPOs and RFOs develop policies that will stimulate and support researchers in conducting research responsibly. Krishma's involvement in the project includes consulting with different research stakeholders, using mixed-methods, to provide recommendations on the contents of the SOPs4RI toolbox.

Krishma is also involved in the teaching of the course 'Ethics of Medical Research' (part of the 2 year Philosophy MA at the VU), as well as the research integrity courses offered at the VU and VUmc.
