Focus of research
Silvia Klokgieters works as a postdoctoral researcher at the department of psychiatry at Amsterdam UMC/VUmc.

Silvia is involved in a research project titled “Success breeds success? A mixed-methods study of the sustainability of resilience in older persons” lead by Dr. Almar Kok. The project aims to investigate the sustainability of resilience from depression during the COVID-19 crisis using data from the Netherlands Study of Depression and Anxiety (NESDA), Netherlands Study of Depression in Older Persons (NESDO), and Netherlands Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Association Study (NOCDA). In addition, the study uses qualitative interviews with older adults who participated in NESDO. Silvia obtained the PhD in 2019, which covered the topic of resilience among older Turkish and Moroccan migrants. Silvia studied Health Sciences (Bachelor) and Medical Anthropology (Master).
