Title: Hypoxia and cytotoxic T cell metabolism

Host: Iosifina Foskolou

Prof. Johnson is a Professor at Cambridge University (UK) and the Karolinska Institute (Sweden). He has devoted most of his career to understanding the role of hypoxia (low oxygen levels) in mammalian biological systems. His research has yielded important insights into how the different isoforms of the Hypoxia Inducible Factors (HIFs) – the main regulators of hypoxic response – influence, immunity, physiology, and disease. His most recent focus has been on hypoxia-induced metabolites and their roles in determining T cell fates and functions.
