‘The future in Medicine is now: personalized and synthetic’

The symposium will be followed by a dinner at ‘A Beautiful Mess’

(around the corner from the OBA).

One size does not fit all and nature can be improved upon. Since the term personalized medicine was first coined 25 years ago, continuous efforts have been made to develop tailored treatments for specific groups of patients or individuals. Such approaches are now increasingly complemented by synthetic biology, f.i. through immuno-engineering. This symposium will be dedicated to these two exciting fields, both of which leverage insights from fundamental research into ever more effective treatment of patients.
