The Alzheimer Center Amsterdam is organizing a series of lectures on the latest developments in dementia research. Muireann Irish a is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sydney, Australia and is a National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia Professorial Fellow. Originally from Ireland, Muireann relocated to Sydney in 2010 and has been a senior member of the FRONTIER research team since then. Her research program focuses on improving the early and accurate diagnosis of FTD through improved clinical measures, in combination with multimodal neuroimaging and machine learning techniques. To date, she has produced 185 publications, and has secured >$10million in competitive funding. Muireann directs the MotDem initiative, which aims to better characterise motivational changes such as apathy and anhedonia in FTD syndromes and to improve their management.
