One of the new members of the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Health Care Institute if associate professor and psychiatrist Christiaan Vinkers.
As of February 2021, Vinkers will be part of the Medicinal Products Committee (CG) that advises on admission of certain medicines to the insured package on the basis of therapeutic valuation and a cost-effectiveness analysis. We congratulate Vinkers with this appointment.
The overall role of the National Health Care Institute (Zorginstituut Nederland) is maintaining the quality, accessibility and affordability of health care in the Netherlands. The Scientific Advisory Board is a group of, at most, 50 independent experts, including doctors, scientists, researchers and policy advisers within healthcare.
Christiaan Vinkers: “As a psychiatrist, I am looking forward to contribute to independent assessments of both added value and cost-effectiveness of new medicines, which is also pivotal in the fields of neurology and psychiatry.”
