Aging & Later Life is a multidisciplinary, cross-departmental research program. They focus on aging (growing old), the older person (being old), and the last years of life using the concepts: Resilience, Quality of Life and Personalized care. Currently, theirmain priorities include establishing connections with relevant health and care stakeholders in the greater Amsterdam Area, creating a research agenda focusing on the theme of Urban Aging, connecting with their target group through informative Grey Power debate sessions andtheir Aging & Later Life panel of older adults, and stimulating cross-disciplinary collaboration within the program.
As a program coordinator you will be able to play an important supporting and coordinating role in these priorities.
Tasks
- Liaising with the program leaders, program council, junior council and APH Board of Directors to formulate and report on strategic goals for the Aging & Later Life program. Providing input on the vision and strategy of the Aging & Later Life program.
- Promoting the internal and external visibility of the Aging & Later Life program, together with the program leaders and program council. This includes contributing to the development of the research agenda for Urban Aging.
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with relevant stakeholders in the field of care for older persons, such as care providers and the municipality.
- Preparing and attending meetings of the program council and program leaders.
- Formulating and collecting relevant news items in Dutch and English for our newsflash, the APH website and communication with our members.
- Participating in the organization of meetings and symposia such as the spring and autumn meetings of APH.
Profile
We are looking for a scientific researcher B or postdoc with:
- an MSc degree in medicine, biomedical sciences, health sciences, or related discipline;
- good oral and written communication skills and mastery of English and Dutch language;
- team player skills and someone who has affinity with older persons and his highly motivated and creative.
Working conditions
The position will be placed in scale 10. In addition, there is an annual bonus of 8,3% and a holiday allowance of 8%. The position will be for one year initially, with possibility for extension.
