Marie José Kersten received the award for best PhD supervisor of 2020 from the Graduate School AMC.
Marie José Kersten is a professor of hematology and the head of the department of Hematology at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam, where she has been a staff member since 2002.
She performs research in the field of the biology of lymphoma and the development of new treatments. Professor Kersten is a co-founder of LYMMCARE (the Lymphoma and Myeloma Center Amsterdam at the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC), a center of expertise that aims to further improve the quality of research into and treatment of specific malignant blood diseases.
