The fourth TN2 took place on 4 October 2018. Theme of the conference was ‘Innovation in Psychiatry’ with a particular focus on Neurostimulation & -inflammation. The 2018 TN2 conference featured a plenary keynote lecture by
Prof. dr. Jeff Daskalakis from the University of Toronto.

Understanding Neurodegeneration, Neuroinfection & – inflammation
The third TN2 conference was organized as a satellite conference of the Annual Meeting of Amsterdam Neuroscience (location VUmc and AMC) which took place in October 2017. Also this TN2 conference was of interest to translational neuroscientists of all academic levels, but by paid registration only. The 2017 TN2 conference featured a plenary keynote lecture by Prof. dr. Josep Dalmau from the University of Barcelona with ground-breaking work on the pathogenesis of immune-mediated neurological disorders.
Following this opening lecture two subsequent parallel symposium-programs were organized, one on Neurodegeneration and one on Neuroinfection & -inflammation.
Towards the end of the day, all registrants attended a plenary session with perspectives from Key Opinion Leaders from industry followed by a sponsored reception with sky-box views on the Ajax-soccer stadium.

From Mechanisms to Therapy in Neurodegeneration
The second TN2 conference in 2015 covered both preclinical and clinical aspects of dementia and connect academia with industrial partners. This conference was of interest to preclinical and clinical researchers of all academic levels, business developers, and representatives from small-, medium-, and large-sized companies. Together, the 2nd TN2 conference did not only bring state-of-the-art science in dementia in the spotlight, but also provided the opportunity for both academia and industrial partners to explore new collaborations and insights.

Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders
The aim of the first TN2 conference was to bring together the Dutch Alzheimer research community and bridge the gap between fundamental and clinical research. During this conference, important topics in the centre of attention of Alzheimer research today were highlighted and updated by invited key scientists in the field. The atmosphere for discussion – as in later conferences – was informal and lively, with ample opportunities for forming new collaborations and relationships within the Dutch Alzheimer’s disease scientific community.
