Focus of research

My research focuses on enhancing T-cell immunotherapies against solid and non-reactive tumors by investigating the metabolic processes that influence T-cell differentiation and function.

We primarily focus on CAR-T cell immunotherapy, a promising gene therapy effective for hematological tumors but less so for solid tumors. To address this, we study the response of T-cells to environments that physiologically occur in the human body.  Our aim is to understand the mechanisms of CAR-T cell success and failure, using insights gained to enhance treatment effectiveness.

Techniques include metabolic profiling, gene editing, and in vivo tumor models to develop robust, personalized T-cell therapies to improve treatment outcomes for cancer.
