IXA organises a series of workshops on various topics on valorisation and entrepreneurship, like protecting inventions, collaborating with external partners and sharing research knowledge with outside parties.
The workshops are interactive, information dense and practical: you can can get started right away. Participation is free of charge, registration is required.

Entrepreneurship in science For researchers eager to explore entrepreneurship and who want to know more about the available facilities

Are you curious about what entrepreneurship in science entails? Do you
fantasize about starting your own company and what that means for your
development as a scientist? In this workshop you will get insights in
entrepreneurship within your Amsterdam UMC. You will learn which steps will
bring you closer to your own company, what you should take into account and
which facilities and support Amsterdam UMC offers in the route towards
entrepreneurship. Using a number of examples, we provide information about the
process and what has helped researchers who have already gone through this
process.

How to protect your knowledge? – Patents and other means to safeguard inventions

Have you come up with a unique invention or innovation? Then you might
need to protect it to ensure control over it. But how do you protect your
invention, what are the benefits of patenting and how does your Amsterdam UMC
support you in this? In this workshop we will address these questions and
provide insight into the patenting process. Themes such as patenting and
publishing and ownership are also discussed.
