As of July 1, 2024, Jaap van Netten has been appointed as Honorary Professor (“Adjunct Professor” or “Bijzonder Hoogleraar” in Australian/Dutch terminology) at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia.
The aim of this appointment is to further expand the research in the field of the diabetic foot that takes place at QUT, under the leadership of A/Prof Peter Lazzarini. Jaap will be involved in supervising PhD candidates and co-writing grant applications. He is also involved in drafting the first update of the “National Strategy to End Avoidable Amputations”. Finally, work will be done to intensify and formalize the existing collaboration between QUT and Amsterdam UMC.
