Responsible implementation of Personalized Medicine requires building bridges and stimulating knowledge exchange between actors, with explicit attention to defining roles and responsibilities
Tessel Rigter (research associate section Community Genetics, dept. Human Genetics at Amsterdam UMC) obtained her Bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences (2005), a Master degree in Science communication (in Health education) (2008) and a Master degree in Science teacher education (in Biology) (2008).
Since 2009 Tessel Rigter has been affiliated to the department of Human Genetics, section of Community Genetics at AmsterdamUMC, where she obtained her PhD in “Translating the dynamics of genetics into health care practice” (2014). From 2014 she furthermore has been (partly) affiliated to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
Her research is focused on policy-informing studies in the field of Public Health Genomics and she is skilled in implementation research, qualitative study design, scientific writing, and teaching. She is motivated to create impact by building bridges, stimulating knowledge exchange, and defining strategies for optimization and change in Personalized Medicine.
