Clot dissolver after stroke makes no difference for recovery Patients with acute ischemic stroke do not recover better if they are given a clot-dissolving drug before further treatment. This finding has been the result of a large international study of neurologists and radiologists from 20 hospitals. The research was carried out within the CONTRAST consortium and coordinated by Amsterdam UMC. The findings were published in the scientific journal The New England Journal of Medicine.
