Moreover, logging in via the new portal is super easy: at the bottom (by popular demand) 'login to Pure' has been added again. Every researcher or contact person can login with their own email address or from an internal PC or from CDW/OneView. You do need the Tiqr for this (also when working on location).
We have done our best to transfer all data from the old systems. We would like to ask you to check your own profile and complete it where necessary (a photo, affiliations to research institute and program, focus of research, specialization) and add or update highlighted content. In the help function/FAQ at the top right is a detailed explanation of the practical steps.
If you see any inaccuracies, please let us know at outputregistratie@amsterdamumc.nl
Here is a brief explanation of the choices we have made:
Researchers and their profiles deduplicated
More than 3,000 profiles turned out to be duplicates, i.e. recorded in both Pure AMC and Pure VUmc. We deduplicated in several steps and merged the underlying info where possible.
Affiliations
It is essential that we can report to the parent universities UvA and VU. To this end, we established affiliations for each researcher.
Here, we have chosen the pay relationship AMC or VUmc and in a few cases both where known. There are also many researchers without a salary relationship and then the origin (Pure AMC or Pure VUmc) determines the affiliation, so that we stay as close to the past as possible. For duplicate profiles, we looked at the most complete Pure profiles.
Affiliations can be adjusted upon request and with the agreement of the department head.
Duplicate publications merged
25,000 publications were listed in both Pure AMC and Pure VUmc. These have been merged. Difficulty with this is that a VUmc author was external in Pure AMC and vice versa. If all goes well, all former externals are now listed as internal on the publication. We randomly checked this given the numbers. If there are any questions about this, please let us know.
Highlighted content
Highlighted content (or key publications) we unfortunately could not transfer automatically. If you had selected a top 5 most important articles as highlighted content in AMC Pure or VUmc Pure we have manually transferred them or will do so soon. If you haven't gotten around to that yet, now is the time.
Funding, grants and awards, projects
We could not transfer this data because AMC and VUmc had different rules for this in the past. Moreover, the source for AMC (the Research BV) has not yet been updated with all VUmc data. Therefore, we chose to include data from Elsevier's Funding Database. These are good quality data, but the overview may not be complete. However, the old registrations are still archived and we will manually transfer them -on request.
Datasets
We were also unable to transfer automatically from Pure AMC and VUmc. Datasets were read in from the Elsevier Data Monitor, which is linked to the author just like other output. Should there be any questions or comments about this, please let us know. We can manually transfer the old datasets upon request.
