Focus of research
In our lab we study macrophage epigenetic processes in cardiovascular disease with a focus on atherosclerosis. Epigenetic processes are critical regulators of the immune system and are emerging as targets for diagnosis and interventions. Also in monocytes and macrophages epigenetic pathways are important in regulating responses and cellular phenotype and thereby impact on disease development.
I am highly interested in the the Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) in macrophages and atherosclerosis and my work integrates fundamental research questions with translational applications both in vitro and in vivo.
