                                Successful first implantation of wireless pacemaker communicating with ICD Amsterdam UMC is the first in Europe to implant a wireless pacemaker that communicates with a subcutaneous ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator). Both devices were recently implanted in a 38-year-old patient by cardiologist Reinoud Knops.

The time between the initial scan and the start of treatment has also been substantially reduced.
