The time between the initial scan and the start of treatment has also been substantially reduced.

Alexandra Cloherty crowned winner of international award in science communication PhD student Alexandra Cloherty on winning the Famelab International 2021 at an online awards ceremony held on November 25. Cloherty is the last ever winner of the annual competition, which challenges researchers from around the world to showcase their science communication skills. Participants have to condense a complex scientific topic in an accessible manner within three minutes.

Using data analysis to improve public health At Amsterdam UMC we will be able to help our patients ever better and more precisely in the future by making use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze large amounts of useful data. For example, this will allow us to detect symptoms earlier and make faster diagnostic and treatment decisions. The ‘AI Technology for People’ partnership will help us to achieve these aims.Data provide insight into patient characteristics, lifestyles, illnesses, care outcomes, and the links between them.
