There is a strong association between psychiatric disorders and cardiovascular disorders, but why? And what does this mean for clinical practice?

Multiple initiatives and projects investigating the link between psychiatric and cardiovascular disorders are ongoing at Amsterdam UMC and beyond. This Dutch Heart Foundation funded symposium brings together leading experts to present stateof-the-art research and foster discussion and connection. The overarching goal is to advance more integrated and effective approaches to prevention and care of psychiatric and cardiovascular disorders.
