General

On Monday October 23rd an interesting seminar will take place with Dr. Christopher Glass as the speaker. He works at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) as a Professor of Cellular and Molecular Medicine.

Leveraging dynamic enhancer landscapes to decode macrophage phenotypes in health and disease

Dr. Glass’ primary interests are to understand the mechanisms by which transcription factors, co-activators and co-repressors regulate the development and function of macrophages. By combining genome-wide technologies with molecular, genetic, lipidomic and cell-based approaches he is providing new insights into mechanisms that regulate macrophage gene expression and function that are relevant to inflammatory diseases that include NASH, atherosclerosis and neurodegenerative diseases.

The event is hosted by Marten Hoeksema and Menno de Winther (Medical Biochemistry)

Masterclass

That same Monday in the afternoon (13.00-15.00), before the seminar, Dr. Glass will give a Masterclass for PhD students and postdocs. If you want to present your work, please send in an abstract to Marten Hoeksema (m.a.hoeksema@amsterdamumc.nl). This is also a chance to get external expert input!
