Then join the "Experiences Abroad" event organized by Young AGEM and ask all your questions during the panel discussion with Amsterdam UMC researchers who have experiences as a researcher abroad!

Marten Hoeksema

Marten Hoeksema completed his PhD in the Netherlands. He later received the Rubicon grant, and spent a few years abroad in the U.S., and later sucured an ERC Starting Grant to establish his own reseach group.

Arwen Gao

Arwen Gao earned her PhD in the Netherlands in 2018 and continued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at EPFL, Switzerland, supported by a competitive fellowship (2019 UMDF Accelerator Prize, USA). After 3.5 years of postdoctoral training, she returned to the Netherlands, securing prestigious grants—including an Amsterdam UMC Postdoc Career Bridging Grant, MSCA-EF-PF, and AGEM Talent Development Grant—to transition into an independent group leader.
