Prof. Drenth has an inspiring vision as vice president. "The agenda for my vice-presidency will be dominated to make the UEG future-proof in a time with a rapid changing environment", he mentions in his manifesto. He also underlines the importance of community building within the GI community. By keeping the network of researchers widely and easily accessible to the UEG audience, a sustainable community in this challenging world could be within reach.

"A constant influx of young, energetic and smart professionals is key to a healthy sustainable UEG", Joost adds. He believes that by building on the success of the establishment of the UEG young talent pool, the organization can be further rejuvenated and a wide geographic and demographic representation can be assured.
