Grants & Stipends

Grant Committee

The AI7I Grant Committee supports researchers in carrying out innovative projects within AI&I. Together with the institute'smanagement, the committee issues calls and evaluates applications and establish the key evaluation criteria to foster research quality and advance young talent. Based on quality, the committee advises management on which projects should be awarded.

Our grants foster talent and collaboration, for example:

  • Travel grant - for PhD students to attend international conferences, build their CVs, and expand professional networks
  • Collaboration grant - encourages collaboration between research groups from different departments
  • Work visit grant - supports early-career researchers (PhD's, postdocs and technicians) during short research visits abroad
  • Postdoc & Clinical research grants - assist postdocs and clinical researchers with innovative projects and future grant applications

Flexible and adaptive focus

Each year, the committee and management decide which goals are most relevant for the available budget:

  • Promoting collaboration - between research groups, different stakeholders, or other institutes
  • Personal support - between research groups, different stakeholders, or other institutes

In this way, AI&I grants contribute to talent development, strengthened collaborations within AUMC research groups and foster cross-border collaboration with international universities, thereby supporting and the successful execution of research and enhancing academic quality, regardless of the challenges or changing circumstances that researchers face.
