Societal Participation & Health (SP&H) researchers receive a grant from the Dutch Cancer Society (‘KWF Kankerbestrijding’) for their project entitled ‘Cost-effectiveness and implementation of the web-based MiLES intervention targeted at employers, to enhance successful return to work of cancer survivors’.
The funding was granted to SP&H researchers Michiel Greidanus, Angela de Boer, Femke van Nassau, Allard van der Beek en Sietske Tamminga. The aim of the project is 1) to evaluate the (cost-)effectiveness of the MiLES intervention on successful RTW of cancer survivors, and 2) to develop and pilot test an implementation plan for the MiLES intervention that supports adoption, implementation and sustainability beyond the research setting.
The MiLES intervention is a web-based intervention targeted at employer, with the aim of enhancing the successful return to work of cancer survivors. The intervention consist of, among other, interactive communication video’s, conversation checklists and tailored information and tips.
The project is a collaboration between both locations of the Amsterdam UMC, and (practice) partners, such as Arbo Unie, Re-turn, Maastricht University and Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA). With this grant the project will be executed by a PhD candidate and (partly) a postdoc researcher.
