With joy, we can inform you that there are three nominees for the Societal Impact Award of 2023, of which 2 are APH researchers!
The nominees
Anne Eskes
Anne Eskes is senior clinical researcher (PI) and affiliated with the research institutes Cancer Center Amsterdam and Amsterdam Public Health. Her research focuses on promoting patient-centered care by actively involving patients and their families in the care process.
Erik Sistermans
Erik Sistermans is head of the Genome Diagnostics Laboratory at Amsterdam UMC and professor of Human Genetics. Sistermans is affiliated with the research institutes Amsterdam Reproduction & Development and Cancer Center Amsterdam. Sistermans focuses on the implementation of the Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) in the Netherlands.
Niek Sperna Weiland
Niek Sperna Weiland is an anesthesiologist and is affiliated with research institute Amsterdam Public Health and a driving force in making health care more sustainable. Currently, Niek leads the Center for Sustainable Healthare which, among other things, supports more than 60 Green Teams within Amsterdam UMC.
