The Academic Network of General Practice Amsterdam UMC (ANHA) aims to be an inspiring meeting place for family physicians, researchers and educators to improve care. This is a collaboration of more than 120 general practitioners practices in the Amsterdam region and the department of General practice of Amsterdam UMC.
Objective The ANHA aims to be an inspiring meeting place for family physicians, researchers and educators to innovate and optimize General Practice care. Thereby ANHA provides a testing ground for practice and academia from which new developments can take shape and to integrate research, education and care innovation with a database as a source of knowledge.

- Many GP practices in the ANHA are training practices for GP training or student education
- Organization of network meetings with a thematic approach, these can be seen as a form of continuing education
- GP students conducting research with data from the ANHA database to improve care

- Large number of successfully completed research projects
- A longitudinal research database (20 years) with routine care data from over 600.000 patients
- Research into innovative initiatives which, if proven effective, will be applied in collaboration with GPs
- Mirror information for GPs as part of their quality policy

Examples of activities in the area of care (innovation)
- Large database of routine care data available for research and evaluation of care innovation
- Developing a method of quality improvement using mirror information
- Small projects, evaluating innovations for their significance for healthcare
- Creation of an Academic General Practice of the Future in collaboration with the municipality of Amsterdam and Amsterdam Health Centers Foundation GAZO
