Within the program 'Leren van Data', a network of 'Peilstations' is set up, consisting of nursing homes which will structurally register data in the electronic health record about a specific theme (e.g. antibiotics for urinary and lower respiratory tract infections, use of psychotropics).
Elderly care physicians receive feedback information about their treatment in order to improve their quality of care.
Furthermore, within Leren van Data, routinely recorded data will be extracted from the electronic health record 'Ysis' to analyze relevant themes about (the care for) nursing home residents. Ysis contains data from about 50% of the nursing homes in The Netherlands, and includes information about e.g. socio-demographics, admission information, medical history, treatment policy and disease episodes.
You can find more information on the Gerimedica website about Ysis (in Dutch) and more about 'Leren van Data' on the website of UNO Amsterdam.
