The call is open for registered AMS PhD candidates, Postdoc researchers / Assistant professors who want to prepare a grant proposal after obtaining their PhD.

The AMS-MSH (Musculoskeletal Health) research programme is thrilled to announce a new funding opportunity for Early Career researchers in the MSH domain. The call is open to researchers who (recently) defenced their PhD / will defend their PhD in 2026, and who want to write a grant proposal to set up a new innovative and impactful reserach project.

🔍 What’s on offer?

  • Two applications will be granted the maximum funding of €10,000 per application;
  • To prepare a grant proposal for a new research project OR in combination with collecting pilot data that will strengthen the planned proposal.

📌 Who can apply?

  • The applicant is an AMS-registered PhD candidate who completed a PhD in 2025 or will finish it in 2026 (i.e., PhD-thesis has currently been submitted for approval) or is a postdoc researcher who completed a PhD not before 2022.
  • The proposed project is aligned with at least one of the 5 research themes of the AMS-MSH research programme. (Click on the research programme on the right hand side to read up on the 5 research themes).
