Do you have a novel idea – based on your (pre)clinical research – that could benefit society or healthcare? Or have questions about knowledge or technology transfer and intellectual property (IP)? Maybe you are thinking of an academic start-up yourself and are looking for partners, grants or funding? Connect with IXA BD support to help you with this and secure potential IP. For this could drive industrial partnerships, a start-up company, as well as revenues for your research group/department. Below some instruments to be used.

An Invention Disclosure Form (IDF) is used to document an invention with (commercial) potential. It captures essential background information, including the novelty and current state of the technology or research field. The IDF is an internal document, used to assess the feasibility of a patent application.
Proof-of-Principle (POP) is a funding initiative by IXA/Amsterdam UMC. Designed to support the generation of additional data considered critical for: a) filing a successful patent application, or b) providing key data during a priority year and/or guided by a search report after initial patent submission.
Max funding €50k
Proof of Concept (POC) funding is intended to demonstrate the technical proof-of-concept of an invention, thereby increasing the likelihood of licensing the invention to an existing or early spin-off company. The submission may include financing a prototype or conducting a technical feasibility study.
Max funding €100k

Both funds may be granted throughout the year. Info: Ric van Tol (e.a.f.vantol@amsterdamumc.nl).
